Impala Platinum Holdings Ltd. on Friday reported that its production declined in the first quarter of its financial year.

The South African precious metals miner said 6E concentrate volumes--which includes platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and gold--fell to 809,000 ounces in the quarter ended Sept. 30 from 859,000 ounces a year earlier.

Gross 6E refined and saleable production declined 15% to 741,000 ounces. However, sales volumes were broadly flat at 707,000 ounces.
