The new Lokstadt district in Winterthur, which Implenia has developed, reached another milestone on 2 November 2021: Implenia celebrated the topping-out of the Elefant, Bigboy and Tender buildings with invited guests. Naturally, the guests included Ina Invest, the owner of the Elefant office complex and the Tender residential development, and SWICA, the owner of the rental flats in the 50-metre-high Bigboy.

Winterthur's first "2000-watt site" continues to take shape according to plan. On construction sites 1 and 2, the next stage has now been reached with the topping out of Elefant, Bigboy and Tender. The shells of the future Minergie-certified Elefant timber building, which is fully let to SWICA, and the Tender and Bigboy residential buildings are in place. Their completion is planned for summer 2023. In the 35-metre-high Tender, high-quality condominiums will be built on ten floors, as well as a commercial unit on the ground floor.

Adrian Wyss, Head Division Real Estate Implenia, thanked all the dedicated project participants and construction workers, without whom the achievement of this milestone would not have been possible. He went on to say: "At Implenia, we don't just understand sustainability as the careful selection of construction materials. We think further. For us, sustainability also includes aspects such as social diversity, factors such as spatial comfort or quality of stay and the promotion of urban culture. Because only if we think holistically, i.e. beyond pure construction, will Lokstadt become a place that is revitalised and lived in the long term. In short: Lokstadt is a place where in the end not only the energy balance will be right. In the future, people will feel at home here and safe at all times. Here there will be social diversity and quality of stay, which will bring this old locomotive production site back to life."
