In parallel, the Inditex Group will also expand its presence in Ferrolterra with the expansion and refurbishment of its Pull&Bear store in the Odeón shopping centre.

Pull&Bear is planning to transform its existing store on 82 calle Real in Ferrol into a new store within the Inditex Group's 'for&from' initiative, which strives to integrate people with different types of disability, both physical and mental, into the workforce. This specific Pull&Bear project in Ferrol will be executed in collaboration with COGAMI (acronym in Spanish for the Galician Confederation of Persons with Disability) and is expected to open its doors during the second quarter of 2016.

As with the other stores operated under this initiative, the new Pull&Bear establishment will sell the brand's prior-season ranges at a discount under a special franchise regime. Meanwhile, the brand's new-season collections will be concentrated in the refurbished and expanded store in the Dolce Vita Odeón shopping centre.

Inditex's 'for&from' programme got underway in 2002 and today gives work to more than 75 people with some form of physical or mental disability across the existing nine stores under several Group banners. Another store - this time a Massimo Dutti outlet - is scheduled to open its doors in the Barcelona town of Igualada on 15 April. All the 'for&from stores are managed by charitable organisations specialised in integrating differently-abled people, such as Moltacte, APSA, Fundació Molí d'en Puigvert and COGAMI, among others

Newly-conceived store image

Pull&Bear's new-season collections will remain on display in the brand's other store in Ferrol in the Dolce Vita shopping centre which, having been reformed and expanded, is due to be re-inaugurated on Friday, 8 April. The new store boasts twice as much floor space as the old store - at 570m - and will project a new image drawn from the look embodied by this chain's recent flagship stores.

In fact, the new image to be unveiled by Pull&Bear in Odeón marks a step beyond the California concept which the brand has presented internationally in several flagship stores. The new look continues to be marked by the hugely popular hallmark attributes such as the iconic camper van and the large LED screens, but takes a new direction by introducing more cutting-edge lighting, a lighter palette and a novel interior décor scheme in which the fashion collections take front and centre stage.

The store falls within the Group-wide eco-efficient store project. These stores reduce emissions and water consumption with respect to conventional stores by 30% and 50%, respectively. Material recycling and certification of sustainable store elements are another two hallmarks of the Group's eco-efficient store model.

In addition, the new store image introduces decorative ideas designed to make the overall look warmer, relying, for example, on traditional Mediterranean textures such as exposed mortar and clay and concrete blocks configured into a diamond pattern. The fixtures chosen to display the chain's garments stand out for the use of pine - untreated, varnished and whitewashed alike - and cork finishes.
