Around 201 million people were out of work in 2018, whereas it will go up to 212 million by 2019. The global economy is growing at a slower rate. Amplified effort needs to be made to increase employment opportunities, particularly for young people, reduce the gender pay gap and work towards promoting safe and secure working environment to create decent work for all.

According to Ehsan Malik, CEO, The Pakistan Business Council, 'Whilst creating the right environment to promote employment opportunities is primarily the government's responsibility and 'Make-in-Pakistan' is the PBC's main advocacy thrust, we recognize the role that private sector has to play in providing conditions that are conducive to employee satisfaction, productivity and competitiveness. The 'Toyota Way' offers valuable learning.'
