Infimer Ltd is an Israel-based company, which develops technology for treating waste. The Company develops technology and processes for treating unsorted municipal waste and turning it into a thermoplastic composite material, namely Infimer, which can be used as a raw material for the plastics industry. The Infimer production process includes the following main steps: a continuous process of waste separation, separating the organic lignocelluloses and plastic from the minerals, including metals, glass, rock and sand, as well as several steps of squeezing and grinding the light fraction (organic lignocelluloses and plastics) and subjecting it as a feedstock to a special reactor-extruder, where Infimer is produced by using shearing forces, pressure and heat. The last stages of the process include pelletizing, cooling and packing. Plastic products produced from Infimer include: toolboxes, folding work tables, deck tiles, pallets, as well as injection and molding techniques.
