FRANKFURT (dpa-AFX) - Infineon made above-average gains on Friday in a positive market environment with records in the Dax. After a weak start, the semiconductor shares rose by up to 2.5 percent and reached their highest level since July at just over 35 euros. They also outperformed the European technology index.

The weak start resulted from the disappointing outlook from Texas Instruments the previous evening. Infineon had stacked up much lower than Texas for the December quarter, said one market participant. And a recovery had been announced for the March quarter. He assumes that Infineon will be able to meet expectations and maintain the targets it has set itself./ag/jha/
