This means they will collect a total of more than 550 million euros, which corresponds to a rate of 33 percent, as insolvency administrator Michael Jaffé announced on Thursday. This is an extraordinarily high figure for proceedings of this magnitude. "We have thus come a decisive step closer to concluding the proceedings," he explained.
Qimonda is the former memory chip division of Infineon, which slipped into insolvency in 2009. The insolvency administrator claimed an amount of around 3.4 billion euros plus interest in his lawsuit. Among other things, he accused Infineon of having outsourced the memory chip business at inflated prices.
