Bushu Gas Co., Ltd. (Bushu Gas), INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) and Tsuneishi Kamtecs Corporation (Tsuneishi Kamtecs) jointly announced today that Bushu Gas has entered into separate agreements on the carbon neutralization of gas with INPEX and Tsuneishi Kamtecs.

Through these agreements, Bushu Gas will purchase carbon neutral gas from INPEX and replace the natural gas it supplies to the Saitama Factory of Tsuneishi Kamtecs, a large-scale customer, with carbon neutral gas. Tsuneishi Kamtecs will reduce its environmental footprint and build a circular economy to promote the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) that are incorporated into its management goals by replacing the natural gas it uses at its Saitama Factory with carbon neutral gas. In addition, Tsuneishi Kamtecs will engage in dialogue with all stakeholders and create new value unique to the company while deepening mutual understanding.

Bushu Gas is engaged in environmental conservation initiatives such as energy saving, reduction of environmental footprint at construction sites, acquisition of ISO14001 certification and forest conservation to contribute to the local community as a public utility. Bushu Gas will contribute to the realization of a sustainable society through the supply of carbon neutral gas. INPEX will provide a stable supply of diverse and clean energy through making its oil and natural gas business cleaner as outlined in its 'Long-term Strategy and Medium-Term Management Plan (INPEX Vision @2022 | INPEX CORPORATION)' formulated in February 2022. In this plan, INPEX lays out its long-term strategy towards 2030 and 2050 as well as the company's medium-term business plan, which consists of specific goals and initiatives covering the three-year period from 2022 until 2024, reflecting changes in INPEX's management environment.

The company will work closely with city gas business operators to which it supplies wholesale natural gas and implement measures contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gases on a global scale alongside its customers by responding to their needs through providing solutions such as carbon neutral gas and other forms of clean energy.
