TOKYO - INPEX CORPORATION (INPEX) announced that it has made carbon neutral arrangements for Hokkaido Gas CO., LTD (HOKKAIDO GAS).

The carbon credits used for the carbon neutral arrangements have been verified by a highly reliable third-party certification authority as deriving from greenhouse gas reduction efforts at global forest conservation projects, etc. In its 'Business Development Strategy - Towards a Net Zero Carbon Society by 2050' announced in January 2021, INPEX positions the contribution to realizing a net zero society as part of its core management principle. The carbon-neutral arrangements to HOKKAIDO GAS are aligned to this core principle.

INPEX will continue to strengthen its relations with HOKKAIDO GAS through the carbonneutral arrangements and pursue opportunities for collaboration in diverse business fields. Furthermore, INPEX will proactively engage in energy structure reforms towards the realization of a net zero carbon society by 2050 while fulfilling its responsibility for the development and stable supply of energy.
