InPost APMs are the number one consumer choice for delivery in Poland - Gemius Global

Gemius Global's "e-Commerce in Poland 2021" Report: 77% of internet shoppers choose

InPost as their preferred delivery option

InPost is the market leader for online shopping delivery in Poland and is the most popular delivery option for 77% of all online shoppers, according to the Gemius e-commerce in Poland 2021 report. By contrast, courier delivery direct to home or work is preferred by only half of all online shoppers. Meanwhile, a record 81% of respondents see InPost's APMs (Automated Parcel Machines") as the best option for online shopping delivery. In courier deliveries, InPost is also the leading choice for courier delivery in Poland, ahead of international operators including DPD and DHL.

The role of APMs is also becoming increasingly important for returns, itself a key motivator for online shopping, according to 64% of respondents. The ability to return a purchase at no cost was another key advantage, according to 44% of respondents.

"For the first time since we launched our business, InPost couriers have become the market leader in Poland, with a 37% market share, ahead of our far more established international competitors. This is a source of pride, but also a great motivation to keep getting better - to innovate and to provide our customers with an even better service," says Rafał Brzoska, Founder and CEO of

InPost.

"The Gemius 2021 Report highlights a new generation of online consumer is entering the e-commerce market: tech savvy, mobile, independent, happy to use international delivery services, and with an increasing focus on environmental issues and sustainability. Half of this key 15-24 age group demographic are as happy to use international e-commerce websites as much

as domestic ones while over 70% see offering an environmentally responsible delivery option is a key motivating factor, such as delivery to APMs or with Electric Vehicles," continued Rafał Brzoska.

88% of the same age group identify InPost APMs as their preferred choice. They are also amongst the most frequent users of APMs: 87% against an average of 77% for all age groups. 89% of this group also cites instant delivery (Same Day Delivery) as a key purchase motivator against an average of 83%.

"The Gemius Report provides an important snapshot into this new generation of consider who will influence the future of e-commerce, not just in Poland but beyond. The e-commerce market is evolving rapidly - consumers are becoming more socially and environmentally conscious and the delivery sector needs to keep pace with these changing demands," adds Rafał Brzoska.

InPost's APMs are the most environmentally friendly form of online shopping. InPost analysis shows that ordering a parcel by APM reduces CO2 emissions by up to 75% compared to direct to door. In 2020 alone, deliveries to InPost's APMs removed over 180,000 tons of CO2 by significantly reducing the amount of traffic on the road. Further development and optimization of the InPost's APM network will reduce car traffic in cities even more, which will translate into improved air quality as well as vastly lower CO2 emissions.
