ONE OF Poland's leading entrepreneurs Rafal Brzoska spearheaded a humanitarian mission over the weekend, carrying over 500 tonnes of food and medical supplies to Ukraine via train.

The 34 wagon vessel holding nearly 1,000 pallets of goods left Poland on

Thursday in complete secrecy as the threat of Russian missiles in the country worsened.

The 1,700km journey to eastern Ukraine was completely funded by Inpost founder Rafal Brzoska and his wife Omena Mensah in a personal project, the "Convoy of Polish Hearts".

Speaking with City A.M., the businessman said the motivation behind the project was simple: "The time to act is now", he said.

"I want to give an example to my fellows - both in Poland and abroad".

Brzoska has criticised the "knee jerk" reactions from big corporations and called for "real action".

Brzoska made his name by founding Inpost, the first out-of-home e-commerce enablement platform.
