The Instalco companies, Elektro-Centralen and Tingstad Rörinstallationer have won a joint assignment for the electrical and heating & plumbing installations in conjunction with the construction of Sweden's new electromobility test center in Gothenburg: Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory (SEEL).

The total order value for the joint assignment is approximately SEK 110 million. It is a partnering project together with the construction company, Vestia, and the property owner, Castellum. The Instalco company, Selek, is also involved in the project, having been contracted by Elektro-Centralen for installation of the high voltage system.

"This is a large, complex project that requires the high level of expertise that we have here at Instalco. We are looking forward to being a part of it all and contributing to new research opportunities in the area of electromobility," says Joakim Jörenius, Head of Marketing at Elektro-Centralen.

SEEL, Swedish Electric Transport Laboratory will become Sweden's largest test center for electromobility and it will be jointly owned by RISE Research Institutes of Sweden and Chalmers University of Technology. It will be an arena for research and development on electromobility that will be built next to the old Säve airport premises.

Tingstad Rörinstallationer will deliver the 3-megawatt cooling system, which will be one of the largest in Sweden and Elektro-Centralen will install 12 transformers for meeting the power need of 24 megawatts. The project will get underway in October 2021, and it is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.
