NEW YORK (AP) _ Inter Parfums Inc. (IPAR) on Tuesday reported first-quarter profit of $35.3 million.

On a per-share basis, the New York-based company said it had net income of $1.10.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 94 cents per share.

The perfume maker posted revenue of $250.7 million in the period.
