Provident Hungary, part of International Personal Finance Plc, is delighted to announce it has been recognised as one of Hungary's 'Most Excellent Companies' by the Hungarian division of Investors in People, in acknowledgement of its commitment to employees' professional development.

Investors in People is an international organisation advocating better people management. The annual award, established in 2016, is presented in conjunction with the British Chamber of Commerce. The prize recognises those firms which have harnessed employee talents and promoted business values which have a positive effect on the competitiveness of the industry and country.

The award was presented to Zsuzsanna Kamarás, Director of Human Resources at Provident, by Dr. Dóra Kulauzov, International Trade Department Director at the British Embassy in Budapest, and Gábor Csóti, Managing Director of Investors in People Hungary and founder of the awards programme.

A leading provider of home credit, Provident Hungary has served over 1.3 million customers since launching in October 2001 and celebrated its 15th anniversary last year. The company is one of largest employers in Hungary, with over 3,500 people, including its home credit customer representatives who meet customers in their homes in more than 3,000 communities across the country.

This is the latest in a series of industry award wins for Provident; earlier in 2017 it was voted Financial Service Provider of the Year in Eastern and Central Europe and was named a Hungarian Superbrand, one of the country's leading consumer brands for the fifth consecutive year.

Botond Szirmák, Country Manager of Provident Hungary, said:'This award is a great reflection of Provident's commitment to its employees. We firmly believe that our people lie at the heart of our business and that we need the full support and engagement of each and every one in order to deliver the best service to our customers and maximise lending opportunities. As one of Hungary's largest employers we take great pride in this recognition of the company as a model for excellent corporate culture.'

For the twelve months ended 31 December 2016, IPF's Southern European business, which includes Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria, had 630,000 customers and credit issued increased year-on-year by 17%.
