Provident Mexico, one of Mexico's leading providers of home credit and part of International Personal Finance (IPF), is delighted to announce it has been presented with a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) award for the thirteenth consecutive year, reflecting its outstanding long-term commitment to CSR activities.

The award, adjudicated by the Mexican Centre for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) and the Alliance for Corporate Social Responsibility (ALIARSE), recognises Provident's achievements in providing a high level of business ethics, and a commitment to community engagement and sustainable environment policies.

Provident Mexico's flagship CSR programme, 'Causas' (Causes) works to support and empower the communities in which it operates through initiatives focused on financial education, local investment and environmental protection. It also supports 22 not-for-profit organisations, which it contributes to through its popular annual 'Provident Games' sports tournament.

In 2017, Provident Mexico collected over two tonnes of food donations for people affected by the earthquakes that took place in September and organised direct delivery to local communities. The company's 'Let's Talk Money' workshops also continue to be very popular, and last year more than 20,000 people took part in these classes, which are designed to educate young people and their families on how to better manage their personal finances.

Robert Husband, Country Manager at Provident Mexico, said: 'We are delighted to receive this award for the thirteenth consecutive year, which reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting and engaging with the communities in which we operate. In the past year, we have continued our focus on education and enhancing financial awareness, but also sought to help local communities in the aftermath of the earthquakes that had a devastating impact to many people in the region.'

As of 31 December 2017 Provident Mexico had 828,000 customers and credit issued increased year-on-year by 13% to £274m.
