Today General Director of Rosseti Centre visited production facilities of Kostromaenergo and discussed with the staff of the branch topical issues on improving the reliability of the region's power grid complex.

Last winter, the number of technological disruptions in grids of all voltage classes in the company's functional area of responsibility decreased by 31%, the average time of power outages was 1 hour 12 minutes.

On 15 May, the energy complex of the region had to pass the test of bad weather. The Kostroma region found itself in a zone of abnormal weather conditions: thunderstorms, hail with gusts of wind up to 31 metres per second and tornadoes of high destructive force, which led to breaks and clashing of wires, falling trees from outside protected zones on power lines. The power engineers were mobilized as much as possible and quickly began to eliminate technological violations. On the night of 16-17 May, the power supply was restored in most of the region's settlements.

The head of the energy company instructed the branch's management to conduct a deep analysis of the organization of emergency recovery work and paid special attention to the implementation of the measures of the repair program. During 2021, the branch's specialists will repair more than 300 km of overhead power lines and over 500 transformer substations.

Another topic of the meeting was the modernization of street lighting in Kostroma and districts of the region. Last year, employees of the branch, within the framework of an energy service contract with the administration of the municipality, in the shortest possible time replaced over 11 thousand lighting fixtures in streets of the regional centre. In 2021, Kostromaenergo installed 1,300 new lighting fixtures in the city of Galich and 1,000 in Sharya. In the near future, the power engineers plan to carry out work within the framework of 4 more municipal contracts.

'The key priority of our work is to improve the reliability and quality of functioning of the energy complex of the Kostroma region. All the tasks set within the framework of the repair program will be completed on time and in full. And the development of additional services, in particular the modernization of outdoor lighting, is our contribution to the formation of the most comfortable and safe outdoor environment for all Kostroma residents and guests of the region,' stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre - the managing organization of Rosseti Centre and Volga Region.
