At the Memorial Complex in the city of Tula, the power engineers observed a minute of silence in memory of the fallen heroes and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.

The country's only Memorial to Heroes-Power Engineers in Tula is a unique complex that was opened on 19 September 2020 in the year of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory. The central element of the complex is an obelisk of 1,418 cm high (according to the number of days of war), and its heart is the Eternal Flame, a particle of which was delivered from Moscow from the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

The laying was attended by Deputy General Directors - Directors of branches from the regions of presence of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Center and Volga Region, heads of departments, chiefs of digital Distribution Zones, as well as employees of Tulenergo - a total of 150 people. Representatives of the Youth Army carried the honour guard near the Eternal Flame.

'During the war years, many workers in the industry had to become soldiers. The power engineers who remained in the rear faced no less difficult tests - they performed a real labour feat, maintaining constant power supply in the country. The memorial became a symbol of the heroism and courage of our colleagues, and our sacred duty today is to protect and preserve the memory of the glorious past of our Motherland, of the feat of the heroes who defeated fascism,' stressed Igor Makovskiy, General Director of Rosseti Centre and Rosseti Center and Volga Region.
