The management of Kostroma noted at a high level the performance of work by power engineers of 'Rosseti Centre - Kostromaenergo' to replace the city's street lighting. As a reminder, on 30 November, the branch's specialists completed the installation of 11,407 modern LED lighting fixtures on 772 sections of streets of the regional centre, including 15 parks and squares. The modernization was carried out within the framework of an energy service contract signed by the administration of the municipality in early October.

'I would like to note the efficient and well-coordinated work of the contractor in the implementation of the energy service contract in Kostroma,' commented the head of the Kostroma City Administration Alexey Smirnov. 'The deadlines were very tight, it is getting dark now too early, but the power engineers of Rosseti Centre's branch in Kostroma mobilized all forces and efficiently and professionally implemented this contract together with the city administration, first of all, by illuminating pedestrian crossings and ensuring the safety of road users. We hope for further cooperation for the benefit of our city.'

All the fixtures were replaced as soon as possible - just over a month. More than 100 employees and 25 specialized vehicles worked on the streets of the city every day. First of all, new lighting was installed at pedestrian crossings in order to improve road safety.

'The urban lighting modernization project is the largest in the history of the region. Modernization of street lighting will increase the service life of equipment, reduce energy consumption and the costs of the municipality for electricity bills, increase illumination, comfort and safety on the streets of Kostroma. The company is ready to continue to participate in projects aimed at the development of outdoor lighting systems for streets, roads, parks and squares, including projects for architectural and artistic lighting of buildings and structures in the Kostroma region and other regions,' noted General Director of Rosseti Centre Igor Makovskiy

In addition, Rosseti Centre made a gift to the city for the 100th anniversary of the adoption of the GOELRO plan: specialists completed the architectural lighting of two high-voltage poles of the 110 kV 'Kostroma-1 - Centralnaya' line at the crossing over the Volga river in Kostroma. The grid facilities are lighted in the colours of the Russian flag.
