INTESA SANPAOLO NUMBER-ONE IN EUROPE, NUMBER-TWO IN THE

WORLD AND THE ONLY ITALIAN BANK AMONG THE 100 MOST SUSTAINABLE COMPANIES IN THE WORLD ACCORDING TO CORPORATE KNIGHTS

Rankings presented today at the World Economic Forum in Davos

Turin/Milan, 18 January 2023 - Intesa Sanpaolo is the number-one bank in Europe, number-two in the world and the only Italian bank among the 100 most sustainable listed companies in the world, ranking 59th out of more than 6,000 companies analysed on the basis of 25 ESG (environmental, social and governance) indicators such as environmental sustainability, attention to human resources, gender equality and revenues from ESG products, services and investments.

The award, presented today at the World Economic Forum in Davos, confirms Intesa Sanpaolo's commitment, strengthened by the 2022-2025 Business Plan, which allocates €115 billion to the community and the green transition and €500 million to people in need, but also sets the goal of zero net emissions by 2030 for its own and by 2050 for those of its loan and investment portfolios, asset management and insurance business, while also helping protect and restore natural capital by planting more than 100 million trees and adopting a specific biodiversity policy.

This recognition comes after Intesa Sanpaolo was confirmed, at the end of 2022, as the only Italian bank in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (World and Europe), among the main international sustainability indices, and included in CDP's Climate Change A-List.
