Invitation Homes Inc. said it recently received a letter from the Federal Trade Commission requesting information about how the company conducts its business generally and specifically during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The single-family-home leasing company said Friday it is cooperating with the request.

Invitation Homes said it has received more than $19 million in rental-assistance payments after helping thousands of residents apply for government-assistance programs in fiscal 2020 and year to date 2021 through August.

The company said it will continue to provide residents with information about rental assistance programs that they might be eligible for, application instructions, necessary documentation and owner requirements.

The company said average occupancy for August was 98.1% on a same-store basis, compared with 97.8% in the same month last year.

Invitation Homes said its chief executive will join a panel of industry executives during the Evercore ISI Real Estate Conference on Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. ET. Its finance chief and chief operating officer will participate in a roundtable discussion at the BofA Securities 2021 Global Real Estate Conference on Sept. 22 at 9 a.m. ET.
