The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) recently released its annual scorecard that assesses efforts by food services companies to offer climate-friendly, plant-based foods.

ISS Guckenheimer has achieved the top rank in the HSUS's annual protein sustainability scorecard. The animal welfare non-profit further highlights ISS Guckenheimer's actions on climate-friendly foods and its commitment to making 55% of menu options plant based by 2025.

Paul Fairhead, CEO of ISS Guckenheimer, says: "We're very pleased to have earned the top ranking in this important industry benchmark. Achieving environmentally friendly, sustainable food-based outcomes is a core element of our overall service approach. That we can do it without sacrificing nutrition, quality, or taste, while also increasing animal welfare, is a testament to the skill and creativity of our chefs and culinary teams and supported by our entire organization in responding to client needs."

To inform its scorecard ranking, the HSUS evaluated food service providers across three areas related to sustainability: transparency, goals, and a plan of action. ISS Guckenheimer's food services mix includes: cafes and culinary experiences; catering, events, and executive dining; micro-kitchens and pop-ups; coffee and espresso. The business has been leading the industry in deploying creative solutions to reduce food waste and divert surplus food, and recently committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions associated with food served globally by 25% by 2030.

The integrated facilities management service mix for ISS includes the provision of food, technical and workplace services. The company provides these offerings across major industry segments, including technology, manufacturing, banking, life sciences, healthcare and aviation.
