Rimini, 27th March 2022 - MIR TECH 2022, the Italian Exhibition Group expo dedicated to the audio, video, lighting and broadcast chain, opened this morning at Rimini Expo Centre and will run until Tuesday 29th March.

An expo that, as was explained by Sergio Cerruti, Chairman of the AFI moderating the opening meeting, represents for all the sector´s players a positive boost to face the near future with confidence.

The event was introduced by Fabiana Dadone, minister for Youth Policies, ´I am pleased to participate in this edition, a new start for the sector´, said the minister in his speech. ´These have been two hard years for the sector, but live entertainment is a valuable asset that must be preserved and exploited. Expos such as MIR TECH and the events it represents are therefore very welcome, as they are true Ôaccelerators of dreams´ for young folk, who came through this pandemic more penalized than us adults, because they were denied the possibility of aggregation and amusement.´

Italian Exhibition Group´s CEO Corrado Peraboni totally agreed, ´We all know how much the live entertainment sector suffered due to the pandemic. And precisely for this reason MIR TECH is an important opportunity to start anew wanted by all the chain´s players, whom I wish to thank for having chosen us and believed in us. We are starting again together from Rimini, the entertainment and night life capital.´

This was confirmed by Mattia Morolli, Rimini´s municipal councillor for Public works, School construction, Digital transition, Care and development of the identity of the local area, ´It´s wonderful to meet and talk about what is one of the most characteristic sectors of this city. Live shows are part of the emotive DNA of us all, just like music. I therefore thank the IEG staff for having put this expo together. Entertainment generates great induced income and, if it starts anew, it means the start of a long-awaited return to normality, as well as representing an important cultural driver. Rimini is a place that more than others features all this and we are pleased that we are starting again precisely from our city.´

SILB president Maurizio Pasca, ´The discotheque sector, which I represent, has been the most penalized. We hope to start again as soon as possible, even if, unfortunately, 30% of the businesses have closed definitively. Nevertheless, for the ´survivors´ this new start will be very difficult. We therefore hope that the Government gives substantial help to avoid the death of a sector that plays an important social role, above all for young folk.´

From the front of the enterprises, the speaker was Giancarlo Innocenzi Botti, president of Prodea Group: ´I want to launch a positive message´, he concluded. ´This sector will get stronger, but it must upgrade from the point of view of internationalization, because Italian products are really extremely appreciated abroad, and as far as technological innovation is concerned, which currently enables us to organize entertainment in a different manner. Here at Prodea Group, for example, were are creating the first and largest virtual set in Europe. We shall launch it in Turin in the coming months. We thus hope to also attract foreign productions.´

At MIR TECH public and entertainment professionals find five halls - a total of 25,000 m2 - dedicated to all the new products and services for live shows.

MIR TECH is being held simultaneously with Beer&Food Attraction and BBTech Expo, the reference expos for eating OUT, also organized by Italian Exhibition Group.
