To celebrate its entry into Gartner's Magic Quadrant for iBPMs, ITESOFT invited about twenty customers to an exclusive evening at a prestigious location in the heart of Paris. The goal was to share feedback, good practices, and other useful knowledge regarding digital transformation processes. It's the very definition of a current issue: "85% of decision-makers surveyed feel that digital transformation will have a major impact on their operational processes in the next 12 months*" Opening the evening, Stéphane Houin - Partner and Leader of XP Finance Digital Offerings at CGI - spoke on the topic: "Digital Transformation: Automation and Artificial Intelligence, the next disruption for the business world." His observation is clear: "France is still behind in terms of digital transformation."

Also, both BPM** and RPA*** will have an increasing role to play in enabling digital transformation for companies. According to Stéphane Houin, these technologies will make it possible to meet increasingly stronger organizational demands such as resource optimization, cost reduction, agility and more. During a round table session held after the keynote, BRED, Crédit Agricole Leasing & Factoring, Santéclair, and SFR talked about their experience relating to business process automation. Here is a summary of the key messages from the round table:

Business - IT collaboration

As mentioned by the director of urbanization and architecture for BRED, "modeling processes will facilitate dialogue between business and IT."

For that reason, projects related to document management and customer relations management must not be handled by the IT department alone. Business teams must be mobilized for implementing these types of projects, as they are generally the first departments concerned. With graphical process modeling, business and IT share a common language. One of the key stakes is to achieve total correspondence between "business needs and application implementation."

Agile approach

Like Stéphane Houin, all customers attending the evening were unanimous in mentioning the importance of agile methodology for companies. After being talked about for a long time, the agile approach has become a necessity. The Director of Information Systems at Crédit Agricole Leasing and Factoring highlighted the fact that "this approach is in phase with today's philosophy regarding IT directors and their companies."

Steering and performance

For the MOA manager at Santéclair, business process automation "accelerates results for customers," who benefit from faster response times for their questions. "Process automation enables you to optimize your resources, reduce costs, and increase execution speed, as well as focus your employees on tasks with higher value added. Beyond better performance, you can also manage your processes in real-time to improve responsiveness and flexibility." In terms of digital transformation, ultimate performance could not be achieved without true end-to-end, real-time process management.

Processes, the key to digital transformation

The event was concluded by BRED's director of urbanization and architecture, and SFR's IT Department C&O Network Field Manager, observing that "process digitalization and automation are the key in projects related to digital transformation." For projects to be successful, the core focus must include business - IT collaboration through process modeling, agile methodology, and performance management.
