Sainsbury's has opened the doors to its newest convenience store, Bristol Charlton Hayes Local, with a ribbon cutting ceremony taking place this morning.

The 2,700 sq. ft store will offer customers a wide range of chilled, fresh and frozen grocery and household products as well as freshly baked goods from the instore bakery and a self-service Costa coffee machine. The store's opening hours are 7am-11pm Monday to Sunday.

The Sainsbury's team will play an active role in the local area and support Sainsbury's nationwide community programmes and charity partners. In January Sainsbury's also announced an additional £1 million community fund for stores to donate to charities and other good causes in their local areas. This follows Sainsbury's 'Help Brighten a Million Christmases' campaign that raised £6 million in December for over 800 charity partners, including local charities East and North Bristol Food Banks and North Bristol Community Project.

Sainsbury's Property Director Patrick Dunne said: 'We're delighted to add this new local store to the Sainsbury's estate. The store looks fantastic and I'm proud of all the hard work that's been put in to make it come together. We ensure our stores are in the best locations for our customers and I'm sure residents in the local community will enjoy the value, quality and convenience of their new store.'

Sainsbury's Bristol Charlton Hayes Store Manager George Damsell said: 'Our aim is to provide great quality and value alongside friendly service, and the team of colleagues are excited to welcome and serve customers, providing them with a convenient place to pick up a coffee and their favourite grocery products.'
