Jacobs Engineering : Wins Nunn-Perry Award from DoD Office of Small Business Programs

Jacobs has been selected to receive an FY2020 Nunn-Perry Award, alongside small business partner Aerodyne Industries, by the Department of Defense (DoD) Office of Small Business Programs. The prestigious award recognizes excellence in the DoD Mentor-Protégé Program.

Under the program, small businesses are partnered with larger companies to help expand their footprint in the defense industrial base. The rewards are based off growth and development by the Protégé. The program remains focused on training, educating and preparing small businesses to have successful futures in the defense industry.

Aerodyne Industries is a Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Cape Canaveral, Florida. A rapidly growing engineering and IT services company, they tackle the nation's toughest engineering challenges in the aerospace, defense and government sectors.

Together, Jacobs and Aerodyne support the Missile Defense Agency on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract in Colorado Springs, Colorado and Huntsville, Alabama.

Originally established in the midst of the First Gulf War, DoD's Mentor-Protégé Program is the oldest continuously operating federal mentor-protégé program in existence. The award is named for the contributions of Senator Sam Nunn and former Secretary of Defense William Perry, who both played critical roles in the implementation of program.
