JANUS HENDERSON Asset manager Janus Henderson has appointed a new head of operations to sit on the firm's ExCo. Panos Nikopolitidis has joined from Russell Investments where he was head of global investment and data operations, prior to which he worked at a boutique London hedge fund.

Nikopolitidis is replacing Graham Foggin, who steps down after 20 years at Janus to enjoy a well-earned retirement.

Global COO JR Lowry said the new hire would bring a "wealth of knowledge and experience" to the firm. GYM GROUP Listed low-cost gym operator The Gym Group has plucked Luke Tait from chicken restaurant business Nando's to serve as chief financial officer. Luke will start in October 2022, joining the board of directors.

Tait was at Nando's for five years, having held various financial roles at City companies including SSP and Compass Group. Tait, a qualified accountant, said he was "really excited to be joining The Gym Group."

CRITEO Nasdaq-listed Criteo has announced that Jill Orr will head up the firm's media business in Europe and the Middle East. Orr will be responsible for the expansion of Criteo's retail media business in the region and will be based in London. Data-led retail media is a boom industry, with expectations of a 77 per cent uptick in use over the next few years.

FORRESTBROWN UK research and development tax consultancy has appointed David Byrne to lead its London office, now based in the iconic Tower 42 building, formerly the

Natwest Tower. Byrne helped establish EY's R&D tax team before joining Deloitte as Innovation Tax Director. He joins ForrestBrown from Alvarez and Marsal.

"I am really excited to be joining ForrestBrown at such a pivotal time for R&D tax, both in terms of opportunities in the market and responding to government changes to better target reliefs and reduce fraud," he said.

CORRECTION City Moves yesterday incorrectly reported that BCB Group had appointed Natasha Powell as chief operations officer. Powell has been appointed as BCB Group's chief compliance officer.
