Kashiwazaki City, INPEX CORPORATION, PACIFIC POWER CO., LTD., Japan Petroleum Exploration Co., Ltd., HOKURIKU GAS CO., LTD, UEKI CORPORATION, Daishi Hokuetsu Bank, Ltd, BOURBON CORPORATION and Kashiwazaki Shinkin Bank today announced they have established "KASHIWAZAKI Ideal & Realistic Energy, Inc." (hereinafter "the company") through a joint investment.
The company will commence its electricity sales business by September 2022 as a regional energy company in Kashiwazaki City in Niigata Prefecture, Japan. The company will aim to establish a sustainable energy business in the region through creating an environment where businesses and the public can utilize low-carbon energy, including renewable energy and next-generation energy. The company also seeks to become a core player in the regional environment and energy industry.
In the future, the company will develop a full-fledged low-carbon power supply business in the Kashiwazaki area. The company will also aim to supply stable, low carbon energy to the Greater Tokyo Area using storage batteries, etc. by connecting into submarine power lines and the Greater Tokyo Area/regional power grid. The company will also contribute to the realization of the energy policies and decarbonization policies promoted by the Japanese government.
