SAO PAULO--JBS SA, the world's biggest processor of animal proteins, said Friday that Wesley Batista Filho will take on the position of global president of operations.

JBS also said the company's current president of operations for North America, André Nogueira, will resign from the position effective Nov. 1 and will stay on in an advisory role through the end of the year.

Mr. Batista Filho, who previously held positions at the company including president of JBS Canada and president of operations for Latin America, will report to Chief Executive Officer Gilberto Tomazoni, who has been in that position since late 2018.
