The Defense & Civil Systems division of the Jenoptik Group has received an order from Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Görlitz to deliver train power supply systems. These will primarily supply the air-conditioning units in double-deck coaches with electrical energy. The double-deck coaches will be delivered to Israel for service in public transport. The overall contract is worth over 5 million euros.

The delivery of the batch of these train power supply systems, each consisting of two diesel generators, two cooling systems, two air filters with sand traps and a common switching system will commence in 2011 and end in 2012.

The Defense & Civil Systems division has been doing business in the area of train power supply systems for many years and supplies units of varying power for both remotorization and new systems.
