Jenoptik raises its forecast for the Group operating result
2011 to approx. 44 million euros. Sales now forecast to
come in at approx. 525 million euros.
The Executive Board of JENOPTIK AG again raises the EBIT
forecast for 2011 to now approx. 44 million euros. Over the
comparable figure of 29.0 million euros in the previous
year this is an increase of more than 50 percent. The basis
for the increase was the recent analysis of the business
development made in all three segments. Jenoptik had
originally expected a Group EBIT of more than 35 million
euros (March 2011) and than 40 million euros (May 2011).
The sales forecast for the whole year 2011 is also raised
to approx. 525 million euros (before more than 510 million
euros). With this result, the management expects to post
the best fiscal year on the earnings side in the recent
history of Jenoptik.
The forecast has been increased as a result of the very
good order and earnings development in the first ten months
2011 thanks in particular to the high demand from the
semiconductor industry in the Lasers & Optical Systems
segment as well as from the automotive industry in the
Metrology segment. Jenoptik expects a continuation of the
positive development in the operating business in the
current 4th quarter, although the development of business
in the Lasers & Optical Systems segment is anticipated to
continue returning to normal.
On November 9, 2011, the Jena-based optoelectronics group
will publish detailed figures for the first nine months
2011.
As an integrated optoelectronics group Jenoptik operates in
