On May 27, 2013, Christine Lieberknecht and members of the federal government and of the state chancellery informed themselves about the Jenoptik activities on the Chinese market.

President Asia Daniel Böhme and General Manager of Jenoptik Shanghai Sven Röder gave a presentation on the Group as well as on products and services with which Jenoptik addresses markets and customers in Asia. Together with their political guests, they discussed economic challenges in day-to-day business.

After the talk, the General Managers of the divisions led the members of the delegation through the manufacturing areas and the application center. At the headquarters in Shanghai, Jenoptik now has a state-of-the-art location covering more than 3,000 square meters over two floors. The Jenoptik Shanghai office was officially opened in December 2011. Teams from the divisions Lasers & Material Processing, Optical Systems, Industrial Metrology and Traffic Solutions now have a local presence as well as the Shared Service Center Asia.

The Minister President of Thuringia is currently traveling with her delegation through China for one week in order to maintain and strengthen economic contacts. Members of the delegation are, among others, the ministers Matthias Machnig and Christoph Matschie, the leaders of the parties in the Thuringian parliament (Landtag) as well as representatives of the Thüringer Aufbaubank and the State Development Corporation of Thuringia (LEG). Furthermore, 36 managing directors of Thuringian companies and the rectors of five universities and universities of applied sciences are traveling with them.

Jenoptik strengthens its presence in Asia.

Jenoptik has been represented with own structures in Shanghai since 2006. Based on these structures, Jenoptik Shanghai was founded at the end of 2011 in order to pool all Jenoptik activities on the Chinese market. In addition to being close to the market and customers, having a direct presence also creates advantages in the internal processes along the entire value-added chain.

Jenoptik has further representative offices in Japan, the Republic of Korea, India and, since 2012, also in Malaysia and Singapore. Headquartered in Singapore and headed by Daniel Böhme, the Asia holding company of the Jenoptik Group coordinates the organizational and structural development in the region.
