The Jenoptik Traffic Solutions division has taken over Robot Nederland B.V. The presence in the Netherlands has also enabled Jenoptik to receive a new order for stationary traffic monitoring.
At the end of April 2014, JENOPTIK Robot GmbH, a key part of the Jenoptik Traffic Solutions division, increased their holding in the Dutch company Robot Nederland B.V. from 30 to 100 percent. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The company, with its headquarters in Riel in the Netherlands, will be completely integrated into the group structure in the coming months.
Jenoptik CEO Michael Mertin: "This step is a manifestation of our consistent strategy to take more responsibility with and for our customers directly on site. This will allow us to incorporate our know-how into future projects with great customer benefits. The success of this strategy has been demonstrated over the past year, such as in Australia for example. Following the acquisition of our long-term sales partner we were able to take advantage of our joint expertise and presence to acquire our first major order in the region."
The branch also received a new order for Jenoptik from the Dutch Central Justitieel Incassobureau (CJIB). This includes the delivery of a total of 80 stationary TraffiStar S290F and SR290F systems for speed and red-light monitoring. The order is subject to the EG100 framework agreement applicable in the Netherlands. The order volume is in the single-digit million euro range.
The Jenoptik Traffic Solutions division will operate and maintain the systems over the next eight years. It is expected that the delivery of the systems will start in the first half of 2014, with installation being completed at the start of 2015. The Jenoptik systems can record approaching and departing traffic, create high resolution images of the vehicles and distinguish between the various vehicle categories.
As a leading manufacturer of traffic solutions technology with a strong presence in Europe, the Jenoptik division has already delivered a range of traffic safety technology to the Netherlands. At the end of 2013 the division had already reported a speed measurement system order from the Dutch CJIB. In the previous year Jenoptik had delivered radar systems for mobile traffic control in the Netherlands.

In the Traffic Solutions division, Jenoptik develops, manufactures and markets components and systems that increase road traffic safety throughout the world. The product portfolio, which is based on the proven Robot technology, includes comprehensive systems for all aspects of road traffic, such as speed and red-light monitoring systems as well as OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) products and systems for detecting traffic violations. In the services area, the Jenoptik division covers every aspect of the support process chain - from system development, construction and installation of the monitoring infrastructure, to capturing images of infringements and their automatic processing, through to issuing the citations and collecting the fines as the system operator.
