Jet Airways unveils “Epicurean Series” with First Class Suites

Ultimate fine dining in the sky enriches with Boeing 777-3OOER Aircraft

July 28, 2011

Jet Airways, India’s premier international airline, is launching an all-new in-flight dining service – ‘Epicurean Series’. Partnering with renowned gastronomic brands to offer fine dining experience for connoisseur travellers, the series will inaugurate onboard its long haul Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on the Hong Kong-Mumbai route.

This is the first time for Jet Airways to team up with another internationally acclaimed establishment to offer the finest food and service in the skies to its passengers. The first partnering restaurant will be Man Ho of Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, the signature Chinese restaurant brand of Marriott International, famous for dishes from the Pearl River Delta.

As part of the airline’s continuous endeavour to offer world class service for its guests, a range of varied and delectable Indian and International menu options will be offered onboard its First and Première (business) class starting from August this year. Passengers departing from Hong Kong will be served with Man Ho’s designed menu highlighting an array of sophisticated “Oriental Flavours”.

Veteran Chinese Chefs with 51 years of culinary experience between them, Chef Marco Cheng – Executive Chef, and Chef Ricky Wu – Executive Chinese Chef of Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, exclusively created and designed the airline’s first Epicurean Series. Featuring Canton and Sichuan inspired cuisine as well as fusion creations distinct and unique to Man Ho – Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel’s signature restaurant – Signature dishes includes Wok-Seared Fillet of Fish With Soy Sauce And Creamy Egg White Served With Pink Basil Noodle, Baked Duck Rolls With Asparagus And Mixed Vegetable Gratin in Curry Sauce And Served With Braised E-Fu Noodles And Eggplant, and Steamed Seafood Rings, Braised Brassica and Chinese Mushrooms With Oyster Sauce And Served With Fried Rice And Conpoy.

Both passengers in First class and Première Class (Business Class) will be delighted by the 5-star quality in-flight meal options accompanied by an extensive selection of award-winning in-flight wines. The menu will be updated regularly to surprise passengers.

The luxurious in-flight dining experience will be enhanced by a new line of bespoke crockery from the house of William Edwards – one of Britain’s leading and awarded ceramic designers. The design elements of the new crockery incorporate the traditional hand decoration techniques of English potters in the Stoke-On-Trent area, handed down from generations. Working mainly on special commissions, the William Edwards hand wrought tableware for Jet Airways sets the airline’s hallmark onboard service to a new level.

Jet Airways also raises the standard of luxury, privacy and comfort for passengers on its Hong Kong-Mumbai route by upgrading to its wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft with deployment on 21st August.

The wide-body Boeing 777-300ER has a three-class configuration, including the latest incarnation of the airline’s world-renowned First Class service, a Première (Business Class) offering, and an updated and improved Economy service. Together, this will significantly enrich the in-flight experience of all Jet Airways’ guests.

The eight tastefully designed First Class suites will offer passengers a personal cabin area with dual sliding doors, offers unmatched levels of seclusion and comfort in an undistributed private space. These first class suites possess the world’s longest fully flat airline beds, dining tables for two, private wardrobes, touch-screen control panels, and 23-inch flat-screen LCD TVs with superb Bose noise-cancelling headphones. Guests will also be able to experience the airlines truly world class, warm and personalized service.
