LONG ISLAND CITY, N.Y. (AP) _ JetBlue Airways Corp. (JBLU) on Tuesday reported third-quarter net income of $130 million, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.

The Long Island City, New York-based company said it had profit of 40 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring gains, came to 12 cents per share.

The results surpassed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 19 cents per share.

The airline posted revenue of $1.97 billion in the period, which also beat Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.93 billion.
