John Laing Group plc ('John Laing') the responsible investor and active manager of infrastructure projects internationally, creates shareholder value through investing in sustainable greenfield infrastructure projects, and by actively managing these projects through construction and into operation.
We are pleased to announce that we have been short-listed for the initial phase of the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District Program in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. The consortium, which includes Bouygues Construction, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Honeywell, and Aramark as well as John Laing, was confirmed by Hawaii's Department of Accounting and General Services as one of three teams selected to respond to the forthcoming Request for Proposals.

The availability-based project (the 'Project') will replace the existing Aloha Stadium with a new c.35,000 seat stadium, which will be the first component of the New Aloha Stadium Entertainment District Program that will also afford visitors and local communities enhanced retail and entertainment, residential, office and hotel offerings.

The Project will be delivered through a Public Private Partnership ('PPP') with the State of Hawaii and will be procured through a Design, Build, Finance, Maintain delivery model that includes a 25-35-year maintenance term and availability payments from the State of Hawaii.

John Laing's Co-Head of PPP & Greenfield Projects, Anthony Phillips, said 'Following our recent short-listing for a major Georgia state road project, and our ongoing highway, rail and transit projects across North America, this announcement adds to our track record of availability-based PPP projects. The iconic Perth Stadium in Western Australia stands as testament to our expertise in the entertainment sector and I am delighted we have been short-listed for what will be a flagship community space for the people of Hawaii'.
