Johnson Controls International PLC on Tuesday said it has designated Olivier Leonetti to succeed Brian Stief as chief financial officer.

The Cork, Ireland, industrial and technology conglomerate said Mr. Leonetti would join in the next several weeks as executive vice president and chief financial officer-elect and would become chief financial officer after the company files its annual report for fiscal 2020.

Mr. Leonetti, 55 years old, currently serves as chief financial officer of Zebra Technologies Corp., which earlier Tuesday announced his pending departure.

Johnson Controls last November named Chief Financial Officer Brian Stief to the additional post of vice chairman ahead of his planned retirement as finance chief at the end of 2020.

The company said Mr. Stief would step down as chief financial officer after the company files its annual report and would remain vice chairman, serving in an advisory capacity. Mr. Stief has been chief financial officer since 2014.
