SINGAPORE (AP) _ JOYY Inc. (YY) on Wednesday reported a second-quarter loss of $109.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.

On a per-share basis, the Singapore-based company said it had a loss of $1.43. Losses, adjusted for asset impairment costs and amortization costs, were 1 cent per share.

The social media company posted revenue of $661.7 million in the period.

For the current quarter ending in October, JOYY said it expects revenue in the range of $608 million to $635 million.

JOYY shares have declined 49% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Wednesday, shares hit $41.02, a drop of 54% in the last 12 months.
