Rome, May 11 (EFE).- Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon on Tuesday announced he would leave Juventus at the end of the current season, but he has yet to decide his next move.

"My future is clear and outlined, this year this beautiful and very long experience with Juventus will end," the 43-year-old said in an interview with BeIn Sport.

"I think I have given everything for Juve. I have received everything and more cannot be done. We've reached the end of a cycle," the winner of 25 titles at club level and the 2006 World Cup added.

Buffon holds the record for most Serie A matches played - 656.

After drawing attention at Parma, Buffon joined Juventus in 2001 for a 19-season spell that was momentarily interrupted by his on campaign with Paris Saint-Germain in 2018.

During his second period at Juventus, he was the second-choice goalie after Wojciech Szczesny, but he performed at a high level when he was given the chance.

He has a chance to end his Juventus spell on a high note when they take on Atalanta in the Italian Cup final scheduled for 19 May. EFE
