Rome, Jun 14 (EFE).- Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon said Monday he is planning on playing for at least one more year and is weighing up several options in and outside Italy.

"The thought of retiring was about to win, but now I am sure I will continue playing because I feel strong," he said at of the presentation of his goalkeeping academy B1.

"The appreciation of my colleagues makes me understand I should continue," the 43-year-old added.

Buffon, 43, spent the last couple of seasons at Juventus, but he left the Turin-based club at the end of the last campaign.

He has an offer from Parma, where he made his debut as a professional, and from where he joined Juventus for a first spell in the most expensive transfer in the history of the Serie A at the time. He also has offers from foreign clubs.

"I have many proposals on the table (.) There are teams that play the Champions League and offer me a starting position, others that want to win it, but want me as a back up and I would only do that at Juventus," he added.

"Then I have an option that would represent going back to the beginning, it stimulates my feelings and motivates me to do well. In three or four days I will decide," he said referring to Parma, who were relegated last season to the second tier. EFE
