Merkers Adventure Mine

The World of White Gold welcomes visitors again

From July 1, the Merkers Adventure Mine, the popular excursion destination in the Werra potash region, will once again open its doors to the World of White Gold. The entire team is looking forward to finally welcoming guests again after eight months of closure.

Due to the corona pandemic, activities were suspended for the second time in months, following a break last year. Special hygiene measures and protective precautions have been introduced for the protection of both visitors and employees. The experience of a mine tour down to a depth of 800 meters with unique sights is now no longer prevented. The numerous inquiries already received have proven that guests can hardly wait to enter the pleasantly cool world underground, especially when the outside temperatures are high. Guided tours are offered Tuesdays to Saturdays for visitors aged ten and over.

Registration is mandatory before each visit. The latest information on which conditions apply in detail is published on the Merkers Adventure Mine website (www.erlebnisbergwerk.de). Bookings can be made at the visitor information center (phone: +49-3695-614101;info@erlebnisbergwerk.de). Here, individual questions will also be dealt with.

Health protection is first priority

The effective protection of guests and employees against the risk of infection is the top priority in the organization of visitor operations, which are now beginning again. For this purpose, a hygiene concept has been drawn up in consultation with the relevant authorities in accordance with the regulations applicable in the Free State of Thuringia, taking particular account of the conditions typical of mines. The entire staff has been trained to safely implement and monitor the rules of conduct and hygiene. Therefore, visits will be absolutely safe.

Concerts only later

At present, it is still uncertain when concerts and larger special events may resume under the prevailing conditions. For the latest information, please visit the Merkers Adventure Mine website (www.erlebnisbergwerk.de) and contact the visitor information center (phone: +49-3695-614101;info@erlebnisbergwerk.de).
