Kajaria Ceramics Limited announced unaudited standalone and consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2016. For the quarter, on standalone basis, the company reported gross sales/income from operations of INR 6,398.3 million compared with INR 5,999.4 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 950.3 million compared with INR 641.1 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 988.1 million compared with INR 675.3 million for the same period a year ago. Net profit was INR 654.4 million or INR 8.21 a per diluted share after extraordinary items compared with INR 467.0 million or INR 5.88 per diluted share after extraordinary items for the same period a year ago. Total income has increased from INR 6,066.50 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 to INR 6,457.30 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2016. EBIDTA was INR 1,079.6 million compared with INR 752.2 million for the same period a year ago. Net Sales were INR 5,945.3 million compared with INR 5,628.9 million for the same period a year ago.
For the quarter, on consolidated basis, the company reported gross sales/income from operations of INR 6,659.6 million compared with INR 6,094.2 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from operations before other income, finance costs and exceptional items was INR 1,071.5 million compared with INR 758.2 million for the same period a year ago. Profit from ordinary activities before tax was INR 996.3 million compared with INR 705.5 million for the same period a year ago. Net profit was INR 645.8 million or INR 7.96 per diluted share after extraordinary items compared with INR 486.8 million or INR 5.86 per diluted share after extraordinary items for the same period a year ago. Total income has increased from INR 6,128.40 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 to INR 6,689.20 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2016. EBIDTA was INR 1,270.7 million compared with INR 922.9 million for the same period a year ago. Net Sales were INR 5,917.8 million compared with INR 5,458.6 million for the same period a year ago.
Kajaria Ceramics Limited is an India-based manufacturer of ceramic/vitrified tiles. The Company's segments include Tiles and Others. The Tiles segment is engaged in the manufacturing and trading of ceramic and vitrified wall and floor tiles. The Others segment is engaged in the manufacturing of sanitary ware and faucet and trading of plywood and block board, and also includes bath ware and plywood products. Its product categories include glazed vitrified tiles - Eternity, ceramic wall and floor tiles, polished vitrified tiles and tile adhesives. The Company's wall tiles product categories include bathroom, kitchen, outdoor, living room, bedroom and wall tiles for commercial spaces. Its floor tiles product categories include living room, outdoor, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom and floor tiles for commercial spaces. The Company's Eternity glazed vitrified tiles include admiral brown, bolvia grey. ambrosia, ambrosia decor, apollo grey, astonia bronze, astonia nero and blossom beige decor.
