Russian Helicopters names Rostec Deputy CEO Vladimir Artyakov as Chairman of the Board of Directors

Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec and a leading global designer and manufacturer of helicopters, announces that on 17 July the Board of Directors elected as its Chairman Vladimir Artyakov, Deputy CEO of Rostec.

"Today Russian Helicopters is a leading helicopter producer on the global marketplace, and number one by sales of military attack helicopters, with a firm order backlog of more than 350 billion rubles," Vladimir Artyakov said. "The Company's priorities for the next few years are to enter the global capital markets, and to increase our global market share up to 20% by strengthening our positions in the CIS, China, India, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, as well as other regions."

Dmitry Lelikov, CEO of Oboronprom, was elected Deputy Chairman of the Board of Russian Helicopters. Also elected to the Company's board were:

  • Dmitry Petrov, CEO of Russian Helicopters;
  • Alexander Mikheev, Deputy CEO of Rosoboronexport;
  • Pavel Osin, First Deputy CEO of Oboronprom;
  • Shiv Khemka, Vice Chairman of SUN Group;
  • Jean-Paul Béchat, Honorary President of GIFAS, the French aerospace industries association;
  • Jean-Luc Picard, independent aerospace and defence consultant;
  • Vladimir Litvin, head of Rostec's Department of Corporate Procedures and Property.

The Board of Directors also approved the possibility of the Company's CEO simultaneously holding official positions on the governing bodies of other organisations.

The Company's Board of Directors preliminarily considered and submitted for approval a new version of the Regulation on the Board of Directors. The date (22 August 2013) and agenda were set for the forthcoming extraordinary general meeting of shareholders.

Russian Helicopters, JSC is a subsidiary of UIC Oboronprom, which in turn is a part of State CorporationRostec. It is one of the global leaders in helicopter production and the only helicopter design and production powerhouse in Russia. Russian Helicopters is headquartered in Moscow. UIC Oboronprom, JSC is a multi-profile industrial and investment group established in 2002. It is a part of Russian Technologies State Corporation. Its main tasks include: helicopter engineering (Russian Helicopters, JSC) and engine-building (United Engine Industry Corporation managing company).
