The VIII Session of the International Association of Oil Transporters (IAOT) took place today in Astana. The meeting was attended by heads of major oil transportation companies of Kazakhstan, Belarus, Hungary, China, Russia, Slovakia, Ukraine and the Czech Republic, who discussed the issues of economic cooperation and set up the plans for 2018.

The participants discussed the results of performance of the permanent expert groups for legal issues and supplies, the plans of the expert group for energy efficiency for the upcoming year, the outcome of 'Best by Profession-2017' competition with specialists from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and China taking part in it for the first time, the progress in preparations for the final round of the II International Scientific Technical Youth Conference of Transneft and IAOT participating states, and some other issues.

Mr. Dimash Dossanov, the General Director of KazTransOil JSC, in his opening speech noted that the meeting of heads of the largest international oil transportation companies in Astana was an important event.

'KazTransOil JSC marks its 20th anniversary in 2017. It is a great honor for Kazakhstan's oil pipeliners to receive so honorable guests in the anniversary year, and during the period when Astana hosts the International Exhibition EXPO-2017. I expect the meeting will contribute to strengthening the economic stability of our states,' Mr. Dossanov said.

Mr. Dimash Dossanov, the General Director of KazTransOil JSC, Mr. Stanislav Bruna, the CEO of MERO ČR and IAOT Chair, Mr. Nikolay Tokarev, the President of Transneft PJSC and IAOT Deputy Chair, expressed conviction that the meeting in Astana promoted practical implementation of the ideas of integration of oil transportation mains of Europe and Asia.

The International Association of Oil Transporters was established in 2013. The IAOT is meant to facilitate the coordination of efforts on effective development of oil transportation systems of the participating companies and strengthen the stability of international oil transportation. As part of the IAOT activities, the issues of tariff formation, diagnostics, operation of oil pipelines, oil (oil products) storage, and development of strategic steps related to oil transportation in the Eurasian space are discussed. The IAOT founder is MERO ČR, the Czech trading company. KazTransOil JSC has been a member of IAOT since September 4, 2015. Today, the IAOT members are 8 companies: MERO ČR (Czech Republic), Transneft PJSC (Russia), KazTransOil JSC (Kazakhstan), Transpetrol (Slovakia), Gomeltransneft Druzhba OJSC (Belarus), MOL (Hungary), CNPC (China) and Ukrtransnafta PJSC (Ukraine).
