KGHM Polska Mied? S A : Global mining giant at the World Economic Forum in Davos

Business conferences, promotion of the Polish economy and meetings with the heads of global companies - delegation from KGHM is participating in one of the most prestigious events of the year, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The World Economic Forum in Davos is a place for dialogue and debate on the major social and economic issues affecting the world. Participants include representatives of the largest economic organisations and the most influential political organisations, as well as scientists and economists. The meetings are attended by Polish President Andrzej Duda, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Deputy Prime Minister Jacek Sasin.

- In Davos we talk about the most crucial issues concerning energy, big data or cooperation with international financial institutions. Our current and future partners - the largest players in business world - know KGHM and see through our successes the great economic development of Poland. This success would not have been possible without the support of our government, which actively supports Polish companies also during the forum in Davos - said Marcin Chludziński, President of KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

The Management Board of KGHM participated, among others, in meetings concerning plans for energy transformation in Europe or the involvement of countries in providing support for Ukraine. The President of KGHM discussed possible cooperation in the area of digital transformation with representatives of Google company.

In addition, during the forum in Davos, the copper company is co-organising the Polish House. In the building, neighbouring the venues of the main event, a place was created for the promotion of our country and business meetings.

KGHM is one of the leaders of the transformation process in Poland. The copper company has signed an agreement with US-based company NuScale Power to implement small modular nuclear reactor (SMR) technology in Poland. The first power plant is to be in operation by 2029. Clean energy will power the production departments of the copper Company. KGHM also together with TotalEnergies participated in a Polish government tender for the development of offshore wind projects. KGHM is also initiating activities related to increasing the production of energy from its own sources (RES).

The World Economic Forum in Davos, for the first time since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, is being held on a stationary basis. The motto of this year's Forum is "History at a turning point - government policies and business strategies". Nearly 2 500 people from all over the world are attending this event.
