Volunteering, training, health and sports programmes - the prestigious report of the Responsible Development Forum, which presents the activities of the largest Polish companies in pro-social activities, includes 10 good practices carried out by KGHM Polska Miedź S.A.

- Our presence in the report confirms that responsible business is a reality and a future for KGHM, rather than a new field to be developed. We share unique programmes and invite local governments and NGOs to cooperate - said Lidia Marcinkowska-Bartkowiak, KGHM's Director-General for Communications.

The annually published by the Responsible Business Forum report "Responsible Business in Poland. Good practices" is the largest review of CSR and sustainable development initiatives in Poland. The jubilee edition featured projects from over 280 companies.

Among the examples of good practices from KGHM was the Mie(dź) Rodzinę campaign. The copper company, together with the local governments of the Copper Belt, promotes foster parenthood. Over the course of several years, the campaign has managed to find new homes for 40 children in need. Employee volunteering programmes such as "Pączek ze szlachetnym nadzieniem" (Doughnut with Noble Filling) and "Spełniamy marzenia dzieci" (We Fulfil Children's Dreams) were also appreciated.

In the report, KGHM also presents parenting workshops for employees, anti-depression and mental health promotion and prevention programmes, as well as sports projects under the "Eko-zdrowie" (Eco-health) programme, including, among others, Nordic walking classes or swimming lessons.

The copper company also provides special gifts to employees on the occasion of the birth of a child under the "Cudowni rodzice KGHM" (Miracle Parents of KGHM) programme. The project was well received by the local government of the Copper Belt. Głogów has already introduced a similar project.

KGHM has also issued a publication entitled "60 good practices for 60 years of KGHM", in which it presents most of its activities in the area of social responsibility.
