Kimberly-Clark de México, SAB de CV announced earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2015. For the quarter, net sales were MXN 8,027 million against MXN 7,282 million a year ago. Operating profit was MXN 1,765 million against MXN 1,470 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 1,084 million against MXN 925 million a year ago. EBITDA was MXN 2,189 million against MXN 1,879 million a year ago. Net income increased 17.2%, reflecting the performance at the operating level, a higher cost of financing and a higher effective tax rate. Earnings per share for the quarter were MXN 0.35. Total net debt as of June 30, 2015 was MXN 9.6 billion compared to MXN 9.5 billion at December 2014.
For the six months, net sales were MXN 15,791 million against MXN 14,544 million a year ago. Operating profit was MXN 3,427 million against MXN 3,039 million a year ago. Net income was MXN 2,084 million against MXN 1,899 million a year ago. EBITDA was MXN 4,273 million against MXN 3,854 million a year ago. Net cash flow from operating activities was MXN 2,313 million against MXN 1,351 million a year ago. Capital expenditures were MXN 458 million against MXN 805 million a year ago. Profit before tax was MXN 3,024 million against MXN 2,753 million a year ago.
Kimberly-Clark de Mexico SAB de CV is a Mexico-based company is engaged in the manufacture of personal care products. Its activities are divided into three segments: Consumer products, Professional and healthcare, as well as Export. The Consumer products division focuses on the manufacture and distribution of disposable products for daily use, such as diapers, feminine pads, incontinence care products, kitchen towels, napkins and wet wipes; baby and child care products, such as baby wipes, shampoos, lotions and feeding products, and home products, such as antibacterial gels, food wraps and bar soaps. Its brand names portfolio includes Huggies, KleenBebe, Kleenex, Kimlark, Petalo, Cottonelle, Depend, Kotex and Evenflo, among others. The Professional and healthcare division offers personal care products to commercial customers, including managers of hotels, restaurants, offices and hospitals. The Export division is responsible for the international trade, mainly in the United States.
