Towards the end of 2020 Kingspan joined in a corporate initiative 'Alliance for Good Ireland'. The concept, work with a selected charity, utilising technology to solve a problem for social good.
After meeting with and reviewing submissions from several charities and not for profit organisations, Parkinson's' Association of Ireland was selected.

Alliance for Good Ireland partnership
12 Irish companies joined to work with Parkinson's Association of Ireland on their challenge that could be improved or solved using technology.

Kingspan along with ESB, Microsoft, Bank of Ireland, AIB, Aptiv, RTE, Mayo County Council, Oireachtas Ireland, Novartis, DCU and Pramerica, have over the last couple of months worked collaboratively utilising design thinking frameworks with the team in Parkinson's Ireland on a Parkinson's portal concept.

This columnated with a virtual hackathon that ran for 3 days over 23,24 & 25 March. A portal was developed during the hackathon with the concept of taking health information from a smart wearable device, analysing it and making it available to clinicians while getting insights into Parkinson's condition as well as creating a one stop location where there is the opportunity to link into wider support and build a community to stay connected.
The hope is it will help clinicians make earlier diagnosis and/or help manage the symptoms for Parkinson's patients and as well as finding a way to help support people living with Parkinson's.

Awareness week
This week from the 6th - 11th April is Parkinson's Awareness week and the Parkinson's team are inviting anyone living with or family of those with Parkinson's to attend their virtual events.
