By KWE is pleased to announce that KWE has been awarded by major semiconductor manufacturer Texas Instruments Incorporated (headquarters: Dallas, Texas) the "Supplier Excellence Award" (hereinafter "SEA" ), given to suppliers providing exemplary service and support over the past year.
Purpose and History of the Supplier Excellence Award (SEA)
The SEA was established in 1984 with the goal of awarding worldwide TI suppliers that have demonstrated excellence both in the range and quality of services provided. Since 1998, six categories have been evaluated to determine award recipients: Cost, Environmentally Responsible Procurement, Technology, Responsiveness, Assurance of Supply, and Quality.
About KWE's SEA Receipts
For the 2011 SEA award, 15 suppliers were chosen from more than 12,000 suppliers worldwide. The award was made possible by a recommendation from TI's Global Transportation division, and is the second SEA award KWE has received.
Behind the awarding was the recognition of KWE for its consistent endeavors as a global distribution partner in a project to start up an integrated distribution warehouse for logistics at TIfs first plant in China and logistic system of parts, components and finished goods. From project approval to the start of operations (at a warehouse in Shanghai Pudong Airport Free Trade Zone at KWE, which borders the Shanghai International Airport), KWE provided quick start and efficient project management as well as prompt support for expanding operations thereafter (the project began in January 2011, followed by the start of operations on April 1 and the opening ceremony on April 28, to which the Chinese government VIP was invited).
KWE's Business with TI
KWE's business with TI began with international air freight business from Japan, which started with the opening of TI's Japanese subsidiary in 1968. Since then, KWE has operated distribution warehouses and provided air and marine transport services to TI in locations around the world.
