Kintetsu World Express, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) is pleased to announce our public support for the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD*) and its recommendations for more effective organizational disclosures with regard to governance, strategy, risk management, performance metrics, and target objectives.

On November 1, 2020, the KWE Group enacted its Sustainability Basic Policy to "create a sustainable society for a better future based on the Corporate Philosophy and Corporate Guidelines."

In May of the following year, we specified Emissions (GHG reduction) and Energy (renewable energy) as two of our six material topics.

Since then, we have continually collected energy and emissions data from the entire Group to serve as a baseline for GHG reduction targets. We will disclose environmental data, climate-related risks, and opportunities associated with our business in accordance with TCFD's recommendations.

* : TCFD was established in December 2015 by the Financial Stability Board (FSB) following requests from G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors. The organization seeks to help investors, lenders, and insurance underwriters identify the financial impacts of climate-related risks and opportunities created by climate change. The Task Force considers physical, liability, and transition risks associated with climate change to determine recommendations for consistent, comparable, reliable, clear, and efficient climate-related disclosures as first proposed by the FSB. As of October 15, 2021, 2,400 companies and organizations worldwide-including 523 in Japan-have endorsed TCFD recommendations.
