KKR : Innovating for Impact – Ramky Enviro Recognized for Environmental and Public Health Efforts

At KKR, we believe companies are only as strong as the communities in which they operate. The global pandemic's ongoing impacts and the pressures of a changing climate mean that a company's role in supporting society has become increasingly crucial.

With these complexities in mind, we are incredibly proud that KKR-backed Ramky Enviro Engineers, a leading provider of environmental services and solutions in India and overseas, was recently recognized for its efforts to continually innovate on its offerings to address critical environmental issues and contribute to society:

• In July, the CII - or Confederation of Indian Industry - awarded Ramky Enviro's compressed biogas plant as the 'Most Innovative Environmental Project' at its National Awards for Environmental Best Practices 2021. Ramky Enviro's compressed biogas plant, which converts landfill gas into renewable natural gas, was recognized for its innovative waste reduction methods as well as its ability to transform waste into sellable energy and fuel pellets. Also, the natural gas it produces serves as a replacement for diesel, a fossil fuel.
• In addition, the Global Safety Summit, organized by the Fire and Safety Forum (a key signatory to the UN Global Compact Network India), honored Ramky Enviro with the 'Covid-19 Excellence Award' for its contributions to public health during the pandemic. The company had contributed to pandemic efforts through its processing of more than 10,000 tons of Covid-19-related waste across 950 hospitals and quarantine centers.
